To find a right investor, first you should have a right investment to get investor interested. Write out you business blue print first. How can it be profitable and when will the business start to generate revenue. After you get all done, present it to the bank see if they want to loan you money to open a new business because bank would doubt your business plan as investor does. If you really have great business plan, the investor will come to you. What you need to do is to choose a right investor for your company. You can present your ideas to investor and know what they expect you to return for their investment. See if they really understand your plan and willing to put their money for long term investment that helps your business grow. Good luck

I agree with #2, the first step would be to write out your business plan. The best site to get some reference is bplans.com After writing it out, then you'll have a tool to talk to a bank or someone related to that area who might be interested in funding your idea.
