The Comfort Inn is probably the best value for a decent hotel. Free wi-fi, breakfast etc. The Residence Inn by Marriott is also right there in that area and has free wi-fi and a breakfast. Those hotels are really close to Olde Mistik Village, Seaport and the aquarium.
Never book on those sites... you should use them for research, but if you're booking a room online go directly to the hotel brand website. There are no extra fees, you can always cancel if you have to without penalty up to the day of arrival and the prices are always the exact same on the brand website as they are on Expedia or Travelocity. (If you find it for $120 on Expedia, you can find it on the brand site for $120) Plus it makes me feel better to book directly with the hotel instead of some other company because I like feather-free rooms and I can request stuff like that on there.
