I bought an expensive collectible book over eBay and had to file a dispute because it was significantly not as described. Paypal instructed me to send the book back to the seller and provided me a return address to Holiday, Florida. I sent the book as MEDIA MAIL with signature confirmation + insurance of $500, using Paypal's postage print service. When it was attempted delivery in Holiday, Florida, the package was "UNDELIVERABLE AS ADDRESSED". I later found out that the seller had moved to Pennsylvania and they did not provide their new address... and now I have no idea if the item has been forwarded (it does not say FORWARDED in the tracking). It now went through two sort facilities and it last "Departed Philadelphia, PA" since September 23. I tried contacted every post office the package as traveled through to see where's my package heading, but no one could help me and the Philadelphia, PA post office doesn't have a working telephone (it goes straight to voice mail).. I tried calling for hours during their business hours on the East Coast. I got mixed answers from the other post offices that I called telling me that it's being forwarded or returned back to me (they don't know). I rushed to my local post office where I sent out the package and asked them what the tracking meant and two people told me it would be returned to me (for certain) and not forwarded because "if it was forwarded, the tracking would say forwarded". So in that case, can someone tell me when and how long does "Undeliverable As Addressed" media mail take to be returned back to the sender? Here's the tracking information:

It seems like they are trying to forward it. No one can tell you anything, because they don't know. Sadly, you are just going to wait and hope for the best.

Ok. First, "Media Mail" is considered a division of "Standard" mail, which is not forwarded. However, Media Mail can be attempted with Postage Due (because it is not first class or priority mail, it is standard, forwarding is extra postage). So, apparently, it was forwarded, postage due. I cannot tell, since we don't have the forwarding address, if it is actually AT the delivery Post Office or not. But it may take awhile as delivery may be attempted postage due, awaiting payment... etc. The Post Office does not train people very well (surprise), and it may be in limbo at the delivery Post Office with ppl who don't know what to do with it (how much postage to charge). I imagine, eventually, it will make it's way back to you.

the answer is basic. counting on the mailbox, on the two the exterior, or interior (yet seen while opened) positioned the final names of everybody who lives at your handle accompanied via the word 'in trouble-free terms'. If the mail is addressed to the previous tenant yet is composed of 'or modern-day resident' the USPS could desire to grant that mail on your container. Did you in addition to mght comprehend that that's against postal policies for you to place in writing on any mail that's no longer addressed to you? that must be defacing mail. the appropriate element is to attach a submit-it word to the item. it is likewise necessary to undergo in suggestions that the submit place of work does not return mail to the sender in simple terms in view which you write that fact on the mail. first-class mail is forwarded to the recent handle for a era of a million 12 months. do you pick for to acquire mail at your new handle that became sent on your previous handle? of direction you do. so which you does not decide for any new tenant at your previous handle writing 'return to sender' on those Christmas enjoying cards might you? opposite to perception, the USPS does not have a grasp record of everybody that lives at each handle in the U. S.. In situations like yours that's particularly probable that there is not any longer a nicely-known service who's servicing your direction usual. that's probable that there are various carriers who carry the direction a week. That makes it puzzling on the service and the buyer. i'm hoping this allows.
